John the Deacon (Venetian chronicler; c.940–c.1018)
John the Deacon (c.940–c.1018; also Giovanni da Venezia, Giovanni Diacono, Iohannes Diaconus or Iohannes Venetus) was a Venetian chronicler and secretary to doge Pietro Orseolo II.
