I’ve tried to collect some of the common questions I get about my tours. If you have questions not covered here, please don’t hesitate to contact me. The details are at the bottom of this page.
Booking
How do I book a tour?
Simply send a request by email to info@historywalksvenice.com.
The important information to indicate is the date, the type of tour and how many you are. If there are children in the group, knowing their age can help me prepare.
I’ll come back to you as soon as I can.
You can also try to call me on +39 041 887 6914, but I cannot answer the phone if I’m doing a tour.
Payments
What are the payment options?
- Cash: nobody says no to cash, as long as it’s below the legal limit of €1000 for cash payments;
- Credit cards: I accept most of the common cards. My mobile credit card terminal accepts contact-less, chip and magnetic cards. It does not have a printer, so there is no printed receipt for the payment;
- Online: you can pay in advance, online, by credit card. Please indicate your name or email address as the reason for payment, so I can see who’s paying me;
- Bank transfer: direct bank transfer is fast and cheap, at least within the SEPA countries. My bank account in the name of RENE’ SEINDAL, the bank is BANCO BPM, account IBAN: IT94V0503402078000000071424, BIC/SWIFT: BAPPIT21716.
Who handles credit card transactions for you?
Credit card payments, both online and in person, are handled by MyPOS, which is a European payment services company, offering mobile payment terminals and online payments, based in London, UK.
Do you issue invoices?
Yes, I issue invoices.
I have to make invoices for all payments, whether you want the invoice or not. It is a legal requirement here in Italy.
Italian invoices are made electronically, and transmitted directly to the tax authorities. The form and the language of the invoices are therefore not entirely in my hands. I cannot, for example, make an invoice entirely in English.
If you need the invoice, I will need all the necessary information for your jurisdiction, such as address, VAT registration number, …
Meeting
How do we recognise you?
This is the hardest part of each tour, finding each other, but it usually works out.
If the meeting place in a public place, I will try to be very specific. If necessary, ask for a link to the place on an online map service.
One thing I will always have with me is my tour leader licence, which I normally have on an orange lanyard.
Another tell-tale sign is a tote-bag with the distinctive heart-shaped logo.
Where’s the meeting place?
There’s no fixed meeting place.
Most group tours start in Campo SS Giovanni e Paolo in central Venice, and in that case, the meeting place is beneath the statue.
I do private walks all over Venice, and if we can meet wherever is convenient for you. My only requirement is that it is in central Venice.
