Strazzariol — plate 58
The Arti che vanno per via nella città di Venezia (1753, 1770, 1785, etc.), by Gaetano Zompini (1700–1778), contains sixty engravings of common, mostly poor people, peddling their trades on the streets of Venice in the mid-1700s.

Mi compro drapi vechi per revender, Fornimenti de casa d’ogni sorte Ma per vanzar son cauto assae in tel spender.
Translation
I buy old clothes to resell,
Things for the house of every kind
But to profit, I'm very cautious with the expenses.
Notes
Very little went to waste, and most used items were recycled or resold after use.
The strazzariòl made a living of trading in used clothes, household items and furniture.
The word strazza means rags, or anything broken or worn, which is no longer useful, as in plate 30 — strazza ferut — scrap iron.
