Lorenzo Tiepolo (†1275) was the 46th doge of the Republic of Venice from 1268 until his death. He was the son of Jacopo Tiepolo and a successful military commander.
Jacopo TIepolo, doge 1229–1249, left an impact on Venice, which is still clearly visible today.
The Venetian state was always an ad hoc construct, and institutions came and went at the convenience of the ruling elite.
